Do you feel that the film set out to recreate the book faithfully, or did it aim to adapt the book?
Yes the film was pretty faithful to the book and it was mostly the same throughout both the book and the film.
Select two memorable or important scenes from the film. What made them particularly memorable or important? What are the main similarities/differences between these memorable scenes and those that you found memorable in the book?
The two most memorable scenes for me were when the girls were abducted because it made me so sad and I felt like crying and I would hate it if that were to ever to happen to me. This scene was the same as described in the book and I found them just as equally as memorable.. The scene I found second most memorable was at the beginning where Molly and her mother are having a conversation in the native Aboriginal language and they both are so happy and grateful for everything and I just thought they both have such a great relationship with each other and thought it was so sweet. This is a part of the movie I don't remember being in the book.
What approach do you think you might have taken if the task of filming the book had been your responsibility?
I would of tried to fit most of the important parts from the book into the movie but also try to keep it quick and simple; not too long and not too confusing. Otherwise I think some people would lose interest and get confused as I did a little bit in the beginning of the book.
Did you prefer the book or the film?
I honestly preferred the movie more than the book. It was quicker and a lot more simple and it wasn't as confusing and it kept my interest all through the movie. This is just how I would have made the film.
